Charles is originally from Chicago, IL. He holds a Law Degree from Duke Law School and an MBA from Duke's Fuqua School of Business. Before becoming a full time real estate investor, Charles worked as a corporate and securities attorney for two Atlanta law firms. Kimberly, his wife, is originally from Louisville, KY. She holds a Masters of Arts in International Development from the University of Kentuckyˇ's Patterson School of Development and International Commerce. She worked in Marketing for Ericsson, Inc prior to going into real estate full-time.
We began investing in the metro Atlanta real estate market in eight years ago. We wanted to be able to make their own choices and determine their own worth. We wanted to become our own bosses and set our own hours. We wanted to have a family and be able to spend quality time together. We also wanted to make a positive difference in other people's lives and in the community. We began buying and holding rental properties eight years ago. We rehabbed the majority of these properties, and rented them out. Many, but not all of their tenants were on Section 8. At one point we, through their own holdings, joint venture partnerships and family partnerships owned over 80 rental units.
But we realized that a real estate investor, as long as he or she has a system can reap great rewards from buying and selling properties as well as buying and holding properties!
